Hot Stone Massage in Dubai, Brought to Your Home
Hot stone massage uses smooth basalt stones, heated to roughly 50–55°C, placed along the spine, shoulders and palms while the therapist works with them in hand. The heat penetrates far deeper than hands alone, which lets the muscle release without the therapist needing to apply heavy pressure. If you find deep tissue work uncomfortable but still carry real tension, this is usually the better treatment.
Our DHA-licensed therapists bring the stones, a professional heater, treatment table and fresh linen to your home, hotel or office anywhere in Dubai, 24 hours a day.
Why Heat Changes the Result
Warm muscle behaves differently from cold muscle. Basalt holds heat evenly and releases it slowly, and that sustained warmth does three things a standard massage cannot do as quickly:
- Vasodilation — blood vessels widen, so circulation to the tissue increases and metabolic waste clears faster.
- Reduced guarding — the nervous system stops bracing, so knots release at a much lighter pressure.
- Longer-lasting effect — because the release happens without aggressive force, there is far less next-day soreness than after deep tissue massage.
Who It Suits
- Anyone who finds deep tissue too painful but still has genuine muscular tension.
- Cold-office bodies — Dubai air conditioning keeps shoulders and necks contracted all day.
- Poor sleepers — the parasympathetic shift from sustained heat is strong and often produces the deepest sleep of the week.
- Chronic stiffness in the upper back, shoulders and lower back.
- Winter months and heavy AC exposure, when circulation to the extremities drops.
How a Session Runs
- Setup — the therapist arrives with a professional stone heater. Stones need roughly 20 minutes to reach temperature, so this is prepared while the table is set up.
- Temperature check — every stone is tested on the therapist first, then on your skin, before any stone is placed and left.
- Placement — stationary stones are positioned along the spine, on the palms and sometimes between the toes, over a towel layer, never directly on bare skin.
- Working phase — the therapist massages with oil using a stone held in the hand, gliding along the muscle rather than pressing into it.
- Finish — stones are removed, the body is cooled gradually, and you are advised to hydrate well.
Hot Stone Compared With Other Treatments
| Treatment | Pressure | Best for | Next-day soreness |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hot stone | Light to medium, heat does the work | Tension release without discomfort, sleep | Rare |
| Deep tissue | Very firm | Stubborn knots and adhesions | Common |
| Swedish | Light to medium | General relaxation | Rare |
| Chinese (Tui Na) | Firm, targeted | One specific problem area | Possible |
| Aromatherapy | Light | Stress and mood | Rare |
Pricing
| Duration | Price |
|---|---|
| 60 minutes | AED 350 |
| 90 minutes | AED 499 |
| 120 minutes | AED 620 |
Because the stones need heating time, we recommend 90 minutes for hot stone specifically — a 60-minute booking loses part of the session to setup. See current promotions on our offers and packages page.
Safety: When Hot Stone Is Not Appropriate
Heat therapy carries real contraindications. Please tell us before booking if any apply:
- Pregnancy — raised core temperature is not advised. Book prenatal massage instead.
- Diabetes or peripheral neuropathy — reduced sensation means burns can go unnoticed.
- Cardiovascular conditions or uncontrolled high blood pressure — vasodilation adds cardiac load.
- Blood thinners, easy bruising, or varicose veins in the treatment area.
- Recent surgery, open wounds, sunburn or active skin conditions.
- Fever or active infection.
A properly run hot stone session should feel deeply warm but never sharp. If any stone feels too hot, say so immediately — a competent therapist will remove it without argument.

Frequently Asked Questions
How hot are the stones?
Between roughly 50 and 55°C. The therapist always tests each stone on their own skin first, and stationary stones are placed over a towel layer rather than directly on bare skin.
Can hot stone massage burn you?
Not when performed correctly. Burns occur when stones are overheated, placed directly on skin, or left on someone with reduced sensation. This is precisely why we ask about diabetes and neuropathy before booking.
Will I be sore the next day?
Rarely. That is the main advantage over deep tissue — the heat achieves the release, so the therapist does not need heavy pressure and there is little micro-trauma to recover from.
Do you use oil?
Yes. The stones need to glide, so a light warmed oil is used. Tell us in advance if you have any allergy or scent preference.
How long does setup take?
The stones need about 20 minutes to reach temperature. Your therapist begins heating them on arrival while setting up the table, so no treatment time is wasted waiting.
Is hot stone suitable in Dubai summer?
Yes, and it is more popular than people expect. Constant air conditioning keeps muscles cold and contracted indoors, so the heat is often more welcome in August than in January.
